Clinical Boss Podcast
The Clinical Boss Podcast helps licensed clinicians (BCBAs, SLPs, OTs, therapists, and other allied health professionals) build a scalable business from the expertise they already have. Host Mellanie Page (BCBA, MBA) breaks down how to package your clinical knowledge into CEUs, online courses, coaching, and paid communities, so your income stops being capped by billable hours.
Each short episode covers one thing you can use right away: how to create and sell a CEU course, how to launch your first online offer, how to begin coaching or consulting, how to grow an audience of the right people, and how to market like a behavior analyst (because buying is behavior).
This isn't generic business advice that ignores your clinical background. It's the strategy, systems, and steps to turn your expertise into income and impact.

7: Selling Is Service: Why Charging a Real Price Is the Most Generous Thing You Can Do
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Most clinicians who undersell their expertise think they're being generous. They're not. They're being comfortable and calling it kindness. In this episode, Mellanie Page reframes selling from a necessary evil into an act of service, and makes the case that a real price is one of the most clinically sound interventions you can offer someone who says they want to change.
This one's for the clinician who keeps wanting to make it cheap or free because she cares so much. Stay with it, because that caring might be the exact thing leading you astray.
What's covered:
- Why the one variable that separates Clinical Boss members who make money immediately from those who stay stuck is commitment - and how a price creates it
- Point 1 (1:30): The real value of selling isn't the money. It's the mechanism. A price is a commitment device - when someone pays, they show up, do the work, and get the outcome. The price tag isn't a barrier to transformation. It's part of the prescription.
- Point 2 (1:56): Cheap and free are not the favor you think they are. What actually happens: the course sits in an inbox, the PDF gets downloaded and abandoned, the person moves on to the next free thing. No skin in the game, no commitment, no outcome.
- Point 3 (2:34): The brutal truth about the free thing collector. The person who has downloaded 43 PDFs and finished none of them does not transform until they invest and commit. Selling at a real price isn't taking something from them - it's refusing to let them stay stuck in the exact pattern that's been failing them.
- Why "selling is service" isn't a motivational phrase, it's a mechanism. Once you believe the ask is the service, you stop apologizing for it.
- Three things to do this week (3:21): Write down what your client loses by not committing. Stop reflexively discounting for accessibility - if access matters to you, build a deliberate lower tier on purpose, not a quietly underpriced main offer. Practice saying your price as a service, not an apology.
