Clinical Boss Podcast
The Clinical Boss Podcast helps licensed clinicians (BCBAs, SLPs, OTs, therapists, and other allied health professionals) build a scalable business from the expertise they already have. Host Mellanie Page (BCBA, MBA) breaks down how to package your clinical knowledge into CEUs, online courses, coaching, and paid communities, so your income stops being capped by billable hours.
Each short episode covers one thing you can use right away: how to create and sell a CEU course, how to launch your first online offer, how to begin coaching or consulting, how to grow an audience of the right people, and how to market like a behavior analyst (because buying is behavior).
This isn't generic business advice that ignores your clinical background. It's the strategy, systems, and steps to turn your expertise into income and impact.

11. Why Working Harder Isn't Growing Your Business (The One Degree Shift)
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
If you are posting consistently, taking the courses, and working at night after the kids are down, and the needle still is not moving, the problem is almost never effort. More effort in the wrong direction just gets you to the wrong place faster and a lot more tired. Mellanie Page breaks down why business does not reward hours the way school did, and why the fix is usually a one degree adjustment rather than a giant pivot or a harder grind.
In this episode:
- The one degree principle: a plane one degree off course lands hundreds of miles from where it meant to be. Direction compounds over time. Effort does not fix a heading.
- Why we reach for hustle: when something is not working, we grab the only tool we have ever trusted, which is more. More hours, more posts, more grinding. It is the wrong instrument for this problem.
- The shift is almost always one of three things: your visibility, your message, or your offer. Rarely all three, and rarely a full restart.
- Why "talking to everyone" is the quiet killer: if you are speaking to educators and clinicians and parents and paraprofessionals at once, you are speaking to no one.
- Three things to do this week: get honest about whether the gap is effort or direction, pick the one of the three that would change everything, and subtract something you have been grinding on that clearly is not working.
This one is for clinicians (BCBAs, SLPs, OTs, therapists, and allied health professionals) who are exhausted, stuck, and convinced the answer is to work harder.
